Erin Catey

Attorney Erin Catey grew up in a small rural community in Indiana. Ms. Catey attended Purdue University and received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a minor in Organization and Leadership Supervision. She graduated Cum Laude from Barry University School of Law in 2009. While attending Barry University, she was an active member in various legal societies and graded on to the Barry Law Review where she acted as a Note and Comment Editor and member of the Editorial Board. Ms. Catey served as a Certified Legal Intern with the Barry University Children and Families Legal Clinic where she represented juveniles in both dependency and delinquency proceedings.

Ms. Catey clerked for the Honorable Lawrence Kirkwood in the Ninth Judicial Circuit Probate Division where she utilized her in-depth legal research and writing skills to develop a self-help packet for potential Guardian Advocates. During law school Ms. Catey was awarded a BACE Fellowship with Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida where she assisted indigent clients in receiving public benefits and services including advocating for her clients in front of Social Security Administration and the Veterans Affairs Board.

After receiving her J.D., Ms. Catey worked for an Orlando-based law firm where she focused on Health Care and Administrative Law. Ms. Catey relocated to the Tampa Bay area in 2010 and has focused her practice primarily on Family Law representing individuals in dissolution of marriage, paternity, timesharing, temporary custody, step-parent adoptions, child support establishment and modification proceedings. Erin is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator offering private mediation services to family law litigants as well as pro se pre- suit mediations. Ms. Catey prides herself in regularly volunteering as a Guardian Ad Litem looking out for the best interest of the minor children undergoing high conflict family law matters in Pasco County. The staff at Catey & Maguire Law, P.A. believe the best interest of the minor children must be served first and foremost in all domestic relations cases and advocates zealously for such either when representing the parents or the children as Guardian Ad Litems.

Currently, Erin is a leadership team member of Business Networking International Revenue Source Chapter, a member of the West Pasco Bar Association, West Pasco Bar Associate Family Law Committee, Clearwater Bar Association, Florida Bar Family Law Committee, and Women Lawyers of Pasco. Ms. Catey has acted as the Treasurer for the Clearwater Bar Association Board of Directors since 2021.
