Privacy Policy

What Catey & Maguire Law does with the information you send through this website.

Last updated: October 24, 2026.

This policy covers this website only. It does not cover information you give us once we represent you, which is governed by the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar and by our engagement agreement with you.

What we collect

One thing: what you type into the contact form. That form asks for your name, your phone number, your email address, what you need help with, a brief description of your situation, and, if you would like to tell us, who referred you.

When a message is submitted, the website also records the date and time, the page it was sent from, your browser information and your IP address. That is standard for any website form and is used to keep the form working and to filter spam.

We do not ask for and do not store your mailing address, your date of birth, your Social Security number, or any financial or payment information through this website. There is no comment section, no user accounts and no online payments.

Why we collect it, and what we do with it

To get back to you, to arrange a consultation, and to know who referred you so that we can thank them. That is all. We do not use it for anything else.

We do not sell it. We do not share it for anyone else’s advertising. We do not add you to a mailing list or a newsletter.

Where it goes and who can see it

When you submit the form, the message is emailed to the firm at legal1@cateymaguirelaw.com and stored in this website’s WordPress database. It is read by the attorneys and staff at Catey & Maguire Law.

Like any website, this one passes that information through the company that hosts it and the company that delivers the firm’s email, in the ordinary course of it reaching us. Those companies do not use it for their own purposes.

How long we keep it, and how to have it removed

We keep your message as long as we need it to respond to you and for the firm’s own records of who has contacted us. We do not have a fixed deletion schedule.

If you want your information removed, ask us and we will remove it. Call (727) 372-4722 or email legal1@cateymaguirelaw.com and tell us you want your contact-form submission deleted. You do not have to give a reason. The same applies if you simply want to know what we hold about you.

One limit: if we have already opened a matter for you, your client file is governed by the rules that apply to lawyers and their records, not by this policy, and we may not be able to delete all of it.

Please do not send confidential case details through the form

Use the form to reach us, not to describe your case. Sending information through a website form does not create an attorney-client relationship, and information you send before we agree to represent you is not protected the way a conversation with your attorney is. Once we speak with you, what you discuss with an attorney is confidential whether or not you hire the firm.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, so that the firm knows what is useful. It tells us things like how many people visited a page, which page they arrived on and roughly where in the world they were. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not combine it with what you send through the contact form.

We do not use advertising cookies and we do not follow you around other websites.

The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to tell real visitors apart from automated spam. To do that, reCAPTCHA collects information about your browser and how you interact with the page and sends it to Google. Its use is covered by Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Children

This website is meant for adults seeking legal representation. It is not directed to children under 13, and the firm does not knowingly collect information from them through it.

Links to other websites

This website links to outside resources, including The Florida Bar and the Florida courts. Once you follow a link away from this website, this policy no longer applies and the other site’s policy does.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
