Practice

As an associate attorney at Catey & Maguire Law, Bruce represents clients in all aspects of family law and criminal defense. He treats each client as though they were the only client he represents, and he works on the principle that each client’s needs come first.

Much of that comes down to availability. Bruce is known for responding promptly to calls, questions and requests, so that clients know what is happening in their case and are not left waiting to hear back.

Background

Bruce is a native New Yorker. He attended the State University of New York at Binghamton, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, and went on to earn a Master of Science in Biochemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles. From there he attended Tulane University Law School, where he advocated for indigent clients in appellate and environmental law matters.

He later practiced immigration law, representing people at vulnerable points in their lives in family-based immigration matters. He has also spent more than a decade as a real estate investor, handling many residential transactions, which gives him a practical feel for how the value of a home affects a family during an already stressful period.

Outside the office

Bruce performs improvisational acting, which has turned out to be unexpectedly useful in a courtroom: it is practice at thinking on his feet and responding in real time when a judge or opposing counsel challenges an argument. He also enjoys the outdoors and is an avid runner who has competed in many local 5K races.
